Welcoming the new HP Mini 1013TU

Having not blogged for a really-really long time, I’m blaming it on the fact that I don’t have a mobile device to write a blogpost immediately when I feel like blogging. (Okay, that sounds lame)

This time I’m trying to make sure I have only myself to blame when my blog updates are few and far between.. Welcoming the brand-new HP MiniNote 110-1013TU.. woo hoo !

This HP Netbook is really nice, its dimension is 10.1 inch and it weighs only 1.1kg, so mobility is not an issue anymore.

With an intel atom N280 processor as well as a 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM memory and 160GB Hard Disk, it provides a decent enough service as long as I dont go mad and install ridiculous graphic-breaking softwares inside it, as its Video Card spec is only a shared 64MB one. The touchpad is nice and the keypad is even better !

and furthermore, its HP. Hewlett-Packard, a brand that has been established long before I was born. I got a cool money for value for this little nice gadget over here.. It’s priced at a mere $375, and I bought it when rupiah was at its strongest position towards USD.. $9200/dollar. Yeah !

The only thing that bothers me a bit is that this netbook was built up in China. The Chinese are really going to take over the world soon, aren’t they?

Android Motorola di Indonesia Masih Samar

Sistem operasi (OS) Android diharapkan menjadi penyelamat bagi Motorola yang selama dua tahun terakhir mengalami kemunduran keuntungan. Melihat potensi OS besutan Google itu, Motrola pun berjanji akan menggelontorkan setidaknya 20 ponsel baru dengan basis Android.

Kedatangan 20 ponsel Android itu ditegaskan Chief Executive Motorola Sanjay Jha yang memastikan jajaran ponsel tersebut akan datang secara bertahap pada tahun 2010 mendatang. Demikian yang dikutip dari PC World, Kamis (29/10/2009).

Komitmen yang sama juga pernah dilontarkan Jha beberapa waktu lalu. Hal ini membuktikan keseriusan Motorola untuk bisa mengandalkan kehebatan Google Android.

"Motorola akan mengembangkan seluruh ponsel Android, tetapi tetap membawa pihak ketiga untuk membangun lebih banyak fitur ponsel untuk menunjang Android," tambah Jha.

Sementara itu, Motorola Indonesia belum bisa memastikan apakah dua seri ponsel Motorola yang berbasis OS terbuka, yaitu Cliq dan Droid, akan dibawa ke tanah air juga.

"Saya belum bisa memastikan ponsel Motorola Android akan dimasukan ke Indonesia atau tidak. Karena kebijakan ketat perusahaan pusat yang tidak memperbolehkan kami membocorkannya ke publik, sebelum ada pengumuman resminya," jelas Yanti Agus, Marketing Manager Personal Communication Sector PT Motorola Indonesia kepada okezone.

Kendati belum diketahui kepastian kemunculannya, sumber okezone di Motorola menyebutkan kalau sebenarnya vendor tersebut memastikan kalau ponsel-ponsel Android besutan Motorola itu akan masuk ke tanah air. Sayangnya, si sumber tidak memberikan kepastian waktu peluncuran.

"Motorola Android pasti masuk ke Indonesia karena Motorola masih menganggap Indonesia sebagai pasar yang potensial. Namun kepastiannya belum kami dapatkan dari pusat. Kemungkinan besar satu atau dua bulan ke depan," ujar sumber.
